Looking for Silver Linings (formerly, Goddamn Red Wings)

In Detroit, the Kings dominated the Red Wings, outshooting them almost 2-1 over the course of the game. Late in the game the Kings seem assured of leaving town with points in hand but then a bad break leads to a Red Wings goal and the Kings skate away empty-handed.

Sounds like today, right? I'm actually talking about the game the Kings played in Detroit last March 9 when they outshot the Wings 24-15 and were humbling them on their home ice before Filppula and Helm scored 2:40 apart to give Detroit a 4-3 win.

What happened in the aftermath of that embarrassment was a 6-game winning streak and overall 25-6-3 mark on the way to the franchise's first ever Stanley Cup.

Ok, so maybe I'm being incredibly optimistic in saying this, but hopefully the Kings can follow up another great performance/bad result with some inspired hockey that will get them back into the groove that saw them win the holy grail last summer!
